Update on new projects at the Children’s Park

There are four major projects currently being pursued for the Children’s Park:

  1. Repairing the water play area. Repairs have been made and the spray park should be operational next summer.
  2. Replacement of the tree in the deep tree well. We have requested the removal of the broken tree on the upper level of the park. After it is removed, fill dirt will be added to raise the height of the dirt and a new tree will be planted.
  3. Repairing the wrought iron fence on the lower level. Our request for these repairs was placed in June. Recreation and Parks is handling these repairs. They have a contractor lined up and they tell us they are now “waiting for approval” to spend the funds.
  4. Two grant applications are being filed to fund a new piece of equipment that will suit 2-5 year olds. The hedge maze will be fully removed and this equipment will take its place. New surface covering will be installed under the new equipment.
