This past week, we lost one of the big trees in the park when the wind knocked it over. Coincidentally, the Friends of Mt Vernon Children’s Park have been wanting to purchase a big shade umbrella for the park. It would be nice to keep the sand box in the shade, but with the loss of the tree, shade will be even more at a premium this summer in the park. Please consider donating to our Go Fund Me cause.
