After a successful GoFundMe campaign last year, we were able to purchase and install a giant 10 foot shade umbrella in the park this summer. We placed the umbrella in the lower park, where there aren’t any trees to provide shade. With some help from Chase Street Accessories, we purchased a plaque for the base of the umbrella to commemorate our generous donors:

Unfortunately, we are not opening the park at this time, because the use of playground equipment was not in Phase 2 of the city’s reopening. But we can use this time to figure out how to show park visitors the safe way to operate the umbrella.
